History

Pick Up Records was founded in 1975 by Flavio Alessi in Bassano del Grappa. Initially specializing in progressive rock and Krautrock, it imported these genres from German labels. Later, it expanded to import jazz rock, heavy metal, punk, and new wave. It also started an export activity called Pick Up Export. With the acquisition of Cinevox, CAM, and Intermezzo Media, it consolidated its position. In the 1990s, it became a record label, producing and distributing Italian groups such as Dunwich, Midian, Athena, and Fiaba, and achieved international success with Labyrinth's album 'Return To Heaven Denied'.
