Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd

Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd (PMRMB) is a public company listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad and part of the Petron Malaysia Group, which is part of Petron Corporation in the Philippines. PMRMB operates Petron Port Dickson Refinery (PDR), with a rated capacity of 88,000 barrels per day, producing gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and aviation fuel. Petron Corporation entered Malaysia through the acquisition of ExxonMobil's downstream businesses in March 2012. Petron Malaysia's history traces back to 1893 when Standard Oil products were first sold in Peninsular Malaysia.

In 1961, Esso Standard Malaya was established and construction started on Esso's Port Dickson Refinery, a RM50-million project at the time; Standard Chemicals (Malaya) Ltd. was also established, later renamed Esso Standard Chemical (Malaya) Ltd. In 1962, Esso Standard Malaya Ltd. (ESML) was formed after Standard Vacuum turned over its Asian operations to Esso Standard Eastern, and Mobil Oil Malaya (later Malaysia) was incorporated. In 1963, Esso Port Dickson Refinery started operations and Esso Standard Malaya became a listed company with a RM24.5-million offer on the then Malayan Stock Exchange. Petron Corporation joined Malaysia's market with the acquisition of ExxonMobil's downstream businesses in March 2012. Today, Petron Malaysia is part of Petron Corporation in the Philippines.
