History

OTTO FUCHS began in 1910 as a yellow-metal foundry and developed over more than 100 years into an internationally operating corporate group. Today the fourth generation carries responsibility for the house and its employees. The group employs more than 5,000 people worldwide. In 2010, the company entered new markets and set world records; in 2018, the completion of a 54,000-ton press in the USA set another world record and opened new possibilities for the aerospace industry, and OTTO FUCHS Surface Technology was established. In 2020, the general overhaul of the 30,000-ton press and the opening of a central development center at the company headquarters in Meinerzhagen strengthened development competence and commitment to Germany as a development and production location. In 2021, a second plant in Hungary at the Mór site created additional capacity for manufacturing battery housings for e-mobility. In 2023, the expansion of OTTO FUCHS KG in Meinerzhagen into a technology center for aerospace began, and the position in the aerospace industry was further strengthened by a second location in Verdi (USA) as well as the acquisition of VOGT NDT.
