Overview

Oshima OHYO Co., Ltd. (大島応用株式会社) is a Japanese industrial and building-materials manufacturer headquartered in Asahi-ku, Osaka. The company was founded in 1947, originally in Osaka's Joto-ku, as Oshima Applied Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (大島応用化学工業株式会社), and was renamed Oshima OHYO Co., Ltd. in May 2008. Its core business is the processing of thin steel sheet and the manufacture and processing of acid-resistant coated steel sheet, together with the production and sale of coatings for acid-resistant coated steel, general building, civil engineering and construction work, architectural design and construction supervision through a first-class registered architect office, and import/export operations. The company's product line is built around coated and laminated steel sheet for demanding environments. Its flagship materials include TOF (Tafurol), a fluororesin laminated coated steel sheet; COM (Chemicolor Oshima Metal), an acid-resistant coated steel sheet; RM-B (Roof Metal B); and TCC (two-tone color coated steel sheet). It also produces OPM (Oshima punching metal), vibration-damping device covers, and composite coated steel sheets such as OSP (Oshima sandwich panel). A range of ventilation equipment is sold under the Oshima name, including the Oshima-type ventilator (OV), monitor (OCV) and air mover (OAM). Beyond materials, Oshima OHYO supplies applied processed products such as folded and corrugated roof sheets, flat panels, external walls, ridge covers, flashing and rain gutters (valley gutters, eaves gutters, etc.). Several of its products have received statutory non-combustible material certification from Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, including TOF, TOF-SUS, COM, COM-SUS, RM-B and Chemicolor Boka Wall. The company operates a factory in Niihama, Ehime Prefecture, and a processing center in Neyagawa, Osaka Prefecture, and has historically maintained sales offices and branches in Niihama, Yokkaichi, Nagoya, Hiroshima, Tokyo, Ube and Okayama. Oshima OHYO is a private company with stated capital of 80 million yen. Its representative director is Yukitaka Sadatoshi. The company has pursued quality certification, with its Niihama civil engineering and construction branch and Ehime factory obtaining ISO 9001 registration in 2006. It continues to position itself as a responsive supplier to increasingly sophisticated and diversified needs in coated steel and construction materials.
