Overview
Ordissimo is a French technology brand whose products are presented as designed to be intuitive and accessible to all users, including beginners. Its range includes Ordissimo computers, a smartphone, and the Celia tablet, along with the 'Club Sérénité Ordissimo' service club. The brand's history began when three students, Christophe Berly, Alexandre Vielle and Brice Delmotte, set out in July 2002 to create a very simple personal computer; after more than two years of research and development, the first Ordissimo computer was launched in January 2005. Ordissimo also offers services such as home installation, home training, remote telephone assistance and practical guides.
History
According to Ordissimo's own account, three young students, Christophe Berly, Alexandre Vielle and Brice Delmotte, decided in July 2002 to create a revolutionary product: the simplest personal computer in the world, after seeing their parents struggle with their respective microcomputers. The product was intended for all beginners, young or older, and to cover all types of uses, from the general public (seniors, etc.) to professionals (liberal professions, shopkeepers, craftsmen, etc.). After more than two years of research and development, the first Ordissimo computer was launched in January 2005. Without advertising or a sales network, several hundred computers immediately found buyers via the Internet. The company launched its first laptop in April 2006, and a month later it celebrated its thousandth customer. By the end of 2007, the company had sold its ten-thousandth computer. Since then, Ordissimo has sold nearly ten thousand units per year. The company built a network of more than 250 points of sale in France, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland, and large retailers such as Boulanger and Leclerc centres also backed the brand. In distance selling, the brand is distributed by Mondadori.
