Opus Arte

Opus Arte is an award-winning provider of classical music and theatrical content, releasing around twenty-five titles per year on DVD, Blu-ray, CD, TV and online. Founded as an independent label in 1999 by Hans Petri, it released its first DVD in 2001 and is now part of the Naxos group. The label works with arts organizations including the Royal Ballet and Opera, Glyndebourne, Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Teatro Real, Shakespeare's Globe, and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and its catalogue exceeds 800 programmes.

Opus Arte was founded as an independent label in 1999 and was founded as a production company by Hans Petri; the label released its first DVD in 2001. From the outset it released recordings from the Royal Ballet and Opera (formerly The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden), one of its closest and longest-standing relationships. The Royal Ballet and Opera acquired Opus Arte in 2007, making it their in-house DVD label. In 2018 Opus Arte joined the Naxos family, while continuing to work closely with the Royal Ballet and Opera. The label has produced and directed programmes broadcast in over 60 countries, licensed content to leading businesses, and won many international awards. Its catalogue now exceeds 800 programmes, including recordings in 4K, 3-D and Dolby ATMOS, and it was one of the first labels to release high definition content on Blu-ray.
