Overview
openLCA is a free, professional Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and footprint software with a broad range of features and many available databases, developed by GreenDelta since 2006. It is open source and free to use, and is described as the world's most widely used LCA software.
History
The idea for the openLCA project and software emerged in 2006, in discussions with Andreas Ciroth, Michael Srocka, and Jutta Hildenbrand. The goal was to design and build a fast, reliable, high-performance, modular framework for sustainability assessment and life cycle modelling. openLCA is exclusively run and managed by a core development team working at GreenDelta in Berlin.
