Overview

Onzéo was a French television channel dedicated to football, broadcasting from 2006 to 2019. It was founded on the initiative of Gervais Martel and Bernard Caïazzo, presidents of the Lens and Saint-Étienne clubs respectively, and began broadcasting on 26 September 2006. The channel initially aired delayed matches from Ligue 1, Ligue 2, the Coupe de France, the Coupe de la Ligue, and European cups. It was available 19 hours a day (from 5 a.m. to midnight) on Canalsat. The project was mainly developed by Exprim, a production company led by Jean-Michel Roussier. After the 2011-2012 season, CFoot, a channel where Roussier had become CEO, ceased broadcasting due to competition from beIN Sports. Roussier then regained control of Onzéo with the goal of uniting as many professional clubs as possible. The channel left Canal and Free offers on 16 July 2019. Its slogans were "Et un, et deux, et Onzéo!" (26 September 2006 to 14 August 2013) and "La chaîne au cœur des clubs" (15 August 2013 to 16 July 2019). The channel produced programmes such as Total Foot, Espace Clubs, and Plein Cadre. For the fiscal year ending 30 June 2018, the company reported revenue of €1,393,700 and a net profit of €24,400.
