History
The company now known as On The Page, Inc. has its roots in Novarese Co., Ltd., founded in November 2000 as Workerholic Co., Ltd. by Takeshi Asada, a former Recruit employee, in Nagoya. Initially focused on wedding planning, it opened its first dress shop, Novarese Nagoya, in December 2000. In December 2002, the company changed its name to Novarese and moved its headquarters to Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. In September 2003, it opened its first directly operated wedding venue, Amanda Terrace, in Nagoya, marking its entry into venue operation. In February 2005, it opened Ashia Monolith, a urban guest house, initiating its historic building revitalization business. The company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market in October 2006 and moved to the First Section in 2010. In December 2012, it opened James Residence, a wedding facility and French restaurant, after leasing the former James Residence from Sanyo Electric. By September 2016, it operated 28 directly managed wedding facilities across Japan and had achieved 13 consecutive years of revenue growth through the fiscal year ended December 2015. In March 2016, founder Asada stepped down as president, handing over to Hiroki Ogino, a 36-year-old company veteran, and became chairman. In September 2016, Asada and his family agreed to sell their shares to NAP Holdings, a subsidiary of Polaris Capital Group, which then made a tender offer for all shares. The tender offer price was more than 2.45 times the pre-announcement closing price, causing the stock to hit consecutive daily price limits. NAP Holdings acquired 93.28% of voting rights by October 25, 2016, and Novarese was delisted from the TSE First Section on November 28, 2016, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary on December 1, 2016. On June 30, 2017, NAP Holdings absorbed Novarese (first generation) and changed its name to Novarese (second generation). On June 30, 2023, Novarese (second generation) listed on the TSE Standard Market with ticker 9160. In June 2024, TKP Corporation acquired a 33% stake from Polaris through off-market negotiated transactions and subsequently conducted a tender offer, making Novarese a consolidated subsidiary with a 57.08% voting rights ratio as of December 19, 2024. On April 1, 2026, Novarese absorbed Escrit Inc., a company listed on the TSE Standard Market, and simultaneously changed its name to On The Page, Inc. The company continues to operate a wide range of businesses centered on weddings, including restaurants, hotels, and overseas operations in Hawaii and Vietnam.
