Overview

OMNIC is an Italian technology company headquartered in Milan that designs, engineers, manufactures and supports intelligent self-service infrastructure — most notably smart parcel locker networks — for logistics, retail, hospitality and smart cities. Founded in 2012 and originally named Omnic Consulting Group, the company changed its name to Omnic in 2022. It began as a closed R&D lab developing its first generation of smart parcel lockers, and in 2015 deployed its OMNI Post system with its first enterprise client, BNP Paribas Group. Since then it has expanded into an international provider with active operations in more than 30 countries across Europe, MENA and Asia. OMNIC's offering spans hardware, firmware, software, deployment and lifecycle support, unified by its in-house software platform, Log OS, which connects devices, operations, data and integrations into one system. The company positions itself as an "Intelligence Partner" rather than a hardware vendor, providing end-to-end services from consulting and configuration through engineering, manufacturing, deployment and long-term operational support. Its product line includes self-service parcel lockers, trade equipment and related software, with flagship offerings such as OMNI Post Ultra Outdoor. OMNIC has developed more than 30 self-service solutions and holds a proprietary technology base of 45+ patents. Notable milestones include the introduction of the first open parcel lockers for a university in the United States (UC Berkeley) in 2017, a Guinness World Record in 2018 for the world's largest parcel locker system with 1,182 compartments, and the launch of an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) business model in 2019. The company has partnered with Intel (recognized as an Intel Golden Partner) and secured projects with clients such as IKEA and Rozetka. In 2022 it exited CIS countries and began expanding into EU, MENA and Asia markets, opening local offices in Riga, Warsaw and Riyadh and starting in-house production in Rustavi, Georgia. In 2024 it opened a Milan office, moved most operations to Italy, launched a new production site in Milan, and became a member of the UPU consultative committee.

History

OMNIC was founded in 2012 in Italy, initially under the name Omnic Consulting Group. Inspired by Italian product design, the company began developing its first generation of smart parcel lockers in 2012. A year later, at an e-commerce exhibition in Dubai, the founders framed the idea the company was built on: one solution that works across e-commerce and logistics. After two years of closed R&D, OMNIC deployed its OMNI Post system with its first enterprise client, BNP Paribas Group, in 2015. From 2016 the product has been running in the field and developing from there. In 2017, OMNIC introduced the first open parcel lockers for a university in the United States: UC Berkeley. This project became OMNIC's first concept of an open network — one campus-wide system instead of a single locker. The company also created OmniHub, a self-service station that includes a locker, a coffee station, a dry-cleaning compartment and vending machines. By 2018, OMNIC had expanded its proprietary technology base to 45+ patents and more than 20 self-service solutions. During the Christmas holidays of 2018, OMNIC built a parcel locker system with 1,182 compartments, earning a Guinness World Record for the world's largest parcel locker system. By 2019, the company had launched over 20,000 units worldwide and introduced the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) business model, securing projects for IKEA and Rozetka. It expanded its manufacturing facility, launching 6,000 parcel locker systems for an open network integrated with 30,000 online stores and e-commerce platforms with one of the largest postal companies in Eastern Europe. In the same year, OMNIC partnered with Intel and was recognized as an Intel Golden Partner. In 2020, it launched a parcel station with an integrated antivirus module. In 2022, the company completely exited CIS countries and began expanding into the markets of the European Union, MENA and Asia. It opened local offices in Riga, Warsaw and Riyadh and started in-house production in Rustavi, Georgia. In 2023, Omnic Factory became off-grid thanks to the installation of 2,500 solar panels. In 2024, OMNIC opened an office in Milan and moved most of its operations to Italy. The company also launched a new production site in Milan. In 2024, OMNIC became a member of the UPU consultative committee.
