Okarito Kayaks

Okarito Kayaks is a small, award-winning family-run business that offers guided kayak trips and kayak rentals on Ōkārito Lagoon, described as New Zealand's largest unmodified coastal wetland. The business has been hosting visitors for over thirty years and is owned and operated by Gemma and Baz.

Okarito Kayaks has been renting kayaks and guiding travellers on Ōkārito Lagoon for over thirty years. Over that time, the business has supported three generations of owners, all local people. Gemma and Baz took on the kayak business from their friends Edwina and Rich in 2014. They have been visiting Ōkārito since about 2007. The business is owned and operated by Gemma and Baz.
