History
Ohta Group's history began in 1971, when its first pachinko hall opened in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture. From this base in the Tokai region, the group expanded its pachinko hall operations across the Tokai and Kanto regions and into Okinawa Prefecture. Over time it developed a range of store formats tailored to different markets, including "Ohta" and "Grand Ohta" in the Tokai and Kanto regions, and "Jumbo," "Sunshine," "Sunshine NEXT," and "J-Park" in Okinawa. Earlier formats that the group operated included "Lucky," "Yume Ichiban," "Yume Hiroba," "Birdie," "Ginga," "Dream," "Sunrise," and "Sunbird." A significant diversification step came on September 13, 2012, when the group acquired Hotel Nikko Toyohashi in its founding city of Toyohashi and brought it under the group umbrella. On November 1 of that year, the hotel began operating as Loisir Hotel Toyohashi, marking the group's entry into hotel management. In July 2019, the group established a fitness division, further broadening its business portfolio beyond pachinko and real estate. On September 30, 2021, the group opened Satellite Hanazono Yorii, an off-track keirin betting facility, in Yorii, Saitama Prefecture. The group's corporate structure includes several subsidiaries: OHTA INC. (pachinko hall operation and real estate leasing, with capital of 537.41 million yen), Sunshine Co., Ltd.
