Nuvve Holding Corp is a technology company whose platform for distributed grid assets management and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) orchestrates distributed energy resources such as batteries, bidirectional charging, load optimization, and grid services. The company offers battery energy storage, energy hubs combining batteries and EV charging with solar, and V2G and smart charging for fleets. It was incorporated in 2010, acquired the V2G international tech license, launched its first commercial service in Denmark in 2016, acquired all rights to V2G patents, and became a public company in 2021. In 2025 it acquired the assets of Fermata Energy, and it operates over 700 EV chargers and stationary batteries on three continents.

Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology was invented in 1996 by Professor Kempton at the University of Delaware, who ran several R&D projects with modified electric vehicles throughout the 2000s. In 2010 Nuvve was incorporated and acquired the V2G international tech license, which it used in pilot projects across the world. The first commercial service was launched in Denmark in 2016. Nuvve eventually acquired all the rights to V2G patents and then became a public company in 2021. In 2025, the assets of Fermata Energy were acquired, consolidating the V2G intellectual property of the two market leaders. Nuvve today operates over 700 EV chargers and stationary batteries on three continents.
