Overview

Nox Cycles describes itself as a high-tech e-bike manufacturer (Manufaktur) that builds high-end e-mountain bikes. Founded in 2004 in Berlin out of a passion for the sport, the company initially made a name for itself in the gravity segment with high-end enduro and downhill bikes. Since 2015 it has focused fully on developing high-performance e-mountain bikes, and with the founding of NOX Cycles Austria GmbH in 2017 it moved production to the Zillertal in the Tyrolean Alps, where each e-mountain bike is assembled from A to Z by a single person and given a final quality check. Its model range includes the Amplifier P2 and Hybrid 5.1, and it offers bike leasing as well as dealer and service partner support.

History

Nox Cycles was founded in 2004 in Berlin out of a passion for the sport and quickly made a name for itself in the gravity segment, with the mission of building high-end enduro and downhill bikes with the best components. As drive technologies developed, the company concluded that the future of mountain biking lay in combining muscle power and electric drive, and since 2015 it has focused fully on developing high-performance e-mountain bikes that perform both uphill and downhill. In 2017, with the founding of NOX Cycles Austria GmbH, production was moved to the Zillertal, where bikes are tested in demanding terrain and further developed under real conditions. In its Zillertal Manufaktur, each e-mountain bike is assembled from A to Z by one person, with no production lines but individual workstations and a final quality check; a Quality Card shows who built and inspected the bike.
