Overview

North Flying A/S is a Danish charter airline headquartered at Aalborg Airport in Nørresundby, Denmark. Founded in 1963 as Norfly School and Round Flight by photographer J. Steffensen, the company was originally based at Thisted Airport. In 1970 it took over Aalborg Flying Centre and moved the following year into a newly built hangar at Aalborg Airport, at which point it adopted its current name. The airline has since grown through acquisitions, merging with Norwegian Nordic Air in 1994 and purchasing Aalborg Airtaxi in 1996 and Falck Air in 1998. North Flying operates VIP, passenger charter and cargo flights, and also provides aircraft management and aircraft maintenance from its hangar at Aalborg Airport. It has established a dedicated air ambulance division with its own website, reflecting a strong focus on medical transport. The company's tagline, "when time matters," and its emphasis on "The Value of Time" position it around efficiency and time-critical missions rather than luxury alone. The fleet includes turboprop and business jet aircraft. The Fairchild Metroliner is a versatile turboprop used for group travel and critical medical transport, with a capacity of up to 19 passengers and a range of about 2,100 km. The Cessna Citation III is a high-performance business jet for time-critical medical transport and executive travel, carrying up to 8 passengers with a range of about 3,700 km. The Cessna Citation VII is a premium VIP business jet with a luxurious cabin, carrying up to 8 passengers with a range of about 4,100 km. As of March 2023, the fleet consisted of eleven aircraft. North Flying serves business and group charter customers across Europe and provides worldwide air cargo and medical transport. Its services are organized into five main areas: business flights, air ambulance, air cargo, aircraft management, and events & tours. The company remains privately held and continues to operate from its base at Aalborg Airport.
