Norman® describes itself as a window coverings brand founded in 1974 that has grown into a global leader in window furnishings. Its product range includes custom shutters, shades and blinds, and it states that it has expanded manufacturing and operations internationally over the decades.

Norman® states that it was founded in 1974 with a vision to redefine window coverings through quality, innovation and enduring design. It reports that in 1984 it grew from seven employees to a leading PVC blinds manufacturer, and in 1994 it expanded manufacturing to China, becoming the world's largest producer of ready-made blinds. In the 2000s it entered a new era of growth with the expansion into custom shutters, blinds and shades. In 2007 it expanded across the U.S. and Canada with regional showrooms and support centers. In 2012/2019 it expanded its global footprint with local operations in Japan and Australia, and in 2020 it expanded its global manufacturing footprint with a Mexico facility. It describes itself as presently globally recognized for innovation, craftsmanship and timeless design.
