NORDSTADT braut! eG

NORDSTADT braut! eG is a brewery cooperative (Genossenschaft) based in Hannover, Germany. It was founded on 20 August 2017, with a membership share priced at 500 euros. The cooperative's stated values are co-determination, sustainability and solidarity, and each member has one vote regardless of the number of shares held. Its long-term goal is to brew various beers in its own premises and with its own equipment in the Nordstadt district and to distribute them under its own name locally, regionally and throughout Germany. In the initial phase, regional private breweries brew beers on behalf of the cooperative, with recipes developed by the members. Its first beer, the 30167 Pils, has been available in bottles since early September 2017, distributed via local gastronomy and retail.

The idea of brewing a dedicated Nordstadt beer in the Nordstadt district arose about two years before the cooperative's founding, over a beer. On 20 August 2017, the cooperative NORDSTADT braut! was founded. A membership share could be acquired for 500 euros, and more than 391 membership applications had been submitted and approved. The cooperative's long-term goal is to brew various beers in its own premises and with its own equipment in the Nordstadt and to distribute them under its own name locally, regionally and throughout Germany. In the initial phase, regional private breweries brew beers on behalf of the cooperative, with the recipes developed by the members. Several thousand liters of "30167 Pils" were already sold at events such as the Festival contre le racisme and the Asternstraßenfest. Since early September 2017, the cooperative's first beer, the 30167 Pils, has also been available in bottles, distributed via local gastronomy and retail. In December 2021, a beer brandy was created together with the "Lister Destille Obstbrennerei". On 20 August 2022, at the brewery's birthday party, the Helles HELLGA was presented freshly tapped for the first time, and since then it has been available in bottles at the warehouse sale and selected kiosks. Since April 2026, three new products from NORDSTADT braut! eG have been on the market: Zitronenpause, Rhabauke and Amoore.

• 30167 Pils

  The first beer of NORDSTADT braut! eG, developed jointly with selected hop and malt varieties, unfiltered, brewed with fresh natural ingredients.

• Haltenhopf II

  The second beer of NORDSTADT braut! eG. Fresh, lightly malty sweet, fruity with orange and berries on the first sip. The three hop varieties Centennial, Columbus and Cascade bring a floral and fruity mouthfeel.

• Kopernikuss

  A low-alcohol beer with the tart taste of rhubarb, lightly sweet and tart, described as an interpretation of spring.

• HELLGA

  A Helles beer first presented freshly tapped on 20 August 2022, available in bottles at the warehouse sale and selected kiosks.

• Zitronenpause

  A tart-sweet lemon soda, described as a short break for the day.

• Rhabauke

  A tart rhubarb lemonade, fresh and not too sweet.

• Amoore

  The new Alster beer of NORDSTADT braut! eG, combining northern German freshness with passion, finely balanced, pleasantly sparkling and deliberately less sweet than classic Alster variants.
