History
The company's roots trace to the Aizu Plant: in 1928 Nippon Soda Co., Ltd. took over the management of the Takada Shokai Odera Smelter (established in 1916), and in 1930 a zinc residue treatment facility using the Waelz process was newly installed at the Aizu Plant. In 1972 it began an industrial waste treatment business, and in 1980 it established the Aizu Environmental Analysis Center. In 1983 the businesses were reorganized and consolidated, and it made a fresh start as Nisso Metallo Chemical Co., Ltd. In 1991 it absorbed and merged Nisso Chiba Refine Co., Ltd. into the Chiba Plant. In 2002 the Aizu Plant began manufacturing bisphenol S (BPS). In 2017 the Aizu Plant obtained certification as an industrial waste treatment operator meeting excellent standards. In 2021 capital was reduced from 1 billion yen to 100 million yen (effective January 26). In August 2023 the company marked 40 years since its establishment as Nisso Metallo Chemical.
