Overview

Nippo Ltd. (日邦産業株式会社) is a Japanese company that combines two business models: a manufacturing function centered on precision plastic molding, and a trading (shosha) function centered on high-performance production materials. It serves customers in electronics, mobility (automotive), and medical/precision equipment, offering everything from design and prototyping to mass production. The company positions itself as a 'Technical Innovator' that creates 'distinctive value' by combining manufacturing technology with proposal-driven sales, aiming to be an 'essential company' supporting customers' manufacturing evolution and a sustainable society. Nippo's roots go back to 1940, when Toho Carbon Manufacturing Works (now Reihō Seisakusho Co., Ltd.) was established in Osaka to make and sell carbon parts. In 1952, Nippo Ltd. was founded in Osaka as a spin-off of Toho Carbon's sales division, becoming a special distributor for Hitachi, Ltd. chemical products and selling various carbon products. Over the decades it expanded into plastic molding (opening a plant in Ichinomiya, Aichi in 1968) and built a network of overseas subsidiaries and affiliates across Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Mexico, and Taiwan. It listed on the over-the-counter market in 1991, moved to JASDAQ in 2004, and today trades on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market and Nagoya Stock Exchange Main Market. Its headquarters moved to Nagoya in 2018. Today Nippo operates through four main business areas: Electronics (selling high-performance materials, processed parts, jigs/tools, and equipment as a specialized trading company and fabless manufacturer to electronic component and housing equipment makers); Mobility (manufacturing and selling resin molded parts and assemblies for automakers and auto parts makers); Medical & Precision Equipment (resin molded parts and assemblies for medical device and printer makers); and Design, Evaluation & Prototyping (contract design, prototyping, material evaluation and analysis services). The company has production and development bases in Japan (Inazawa, Saitama, Akashi, Hiroshima) and overseas, and in 2025 opened a new R&D center within its Inazawa facility. It is pursuing a mid-term management plan (2028) and a long-term management goal (2031), emphasizing ESG and corporate value enhancement.
