NingBo ShanShan Co.,Ltd. (A-share code 600884) was founded in 1992 in Ningbo, Zhejiang, and is listed on the main board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The company started in the apparel business and in 1999 shifted into the lithium battery materials field, becoming China's first company to industrialize anode materials; after more than 20 years of development it describes itself as a global leader in anode materials. In 2021 it acquired LG Chem's polarizer business, becoming a global leader in polarizers and forming a "dual main business, dual drive" structure. It now focuses on lithium battery anode materials and polarizers as its two core businesses.

The company was founded in December 1992 in Ningbo, Zhejiang. In January 1996 it was listed on the A-share market, becoming the first listed company in China's apparel industry. In 1999 it began a strategic transformation into the new energy industry, starting industrialization of anode materials, and subsequently laid out cathode materials business. In February 2021 it completed the acquisition of LG Chem's polarizer business, entering the LCD polarizer market and becoming the world's largest and technology-leading polarizer manufacturer. The company now focuses on lithium battery anode materials and polarizers as its two core businesses.
