History
New Horizon Academy opened its first school in 1971. In the 1980s it operated seven schools in the Twin Cities and was the first school to use sign language in infant classrooms. In the 1990s it acquired several schools in Idaho and operated 47 schools in Minnesota, providing care for over 5,000 children in Minnesota and Idaho. In the 2000s its schools earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), received the highest ratings from Parent Aware, and rebranded from New Horizon Child Care to New Horizon Academy.
