History
Navier Medical specialises in the development and commercialisation of medical image analysis solutions to reduce the impact of cardiovascular disease and improve patient health outcomes. The company's journey began with research in cardiovascular biomechanics from 2005 to 2012, leading to the establishment of the Vascular Engineering Lab (VascLab) in 2013 by A/Prof Barry Doyle. In 2014, collaboration began with Prof Carl Schultz on coronary artery disease. In 2018, efforts began to commercialize software technology. In 2019, Lachlan Kelsey completed his PhD and UWA commenced the spin-out process. In 2021, Barry started Navier Medical Limited as the company spun out of UWA and the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, with Lachlan joining as employee #1.
