In 2003, he emigrated to Miami, Florida, and opened a small cigar factory called El Rey de los Habanos in Little Havana with his son Jaime and daughter Janny. The factory's early blends received critical acclaim, and García's expertise helped launch other brands such as Tatuaje, San Cristobal, and La Aroma de Cuba. In 2008, Jaime García developed a cigar named 'My Father' in honor of his father. The blend was a tremendous success and led to the establishment of a distinct brand identity under the name My Father Cigars. In 2009, the family moved their operation to a state-of-the-art factory and farm in Estelí, Nicaragua, which took the name of Jaime's new top-shelf blend. This move marked the transition from a small Little Havana workshop to an internationally recognized manufacturer of hand-rolled premium cigars. The company has since expanded its factory and farmland significantly, operating a vertically integrated production chain that includes tobacco growing, fermentation, sorting, and rolling. In Miami, the operation includes a tenured team of cigar rolling experts, meticulous quality control, and a large warehouse and distribution facility. The García family remains heavily involved in all aspects of the business, from seed to ash.
