Passenger injuries during severe-weather heeling
A violent heeling event in the eastern Mediterranean reportedly injured approximately 138 passengers and caused extensive interior damage. A later lawsuit alleged that injuries from the event contributed to the death of a passenger's wife.

Disappearance of George Allen Smith
George Allen Smith disappeared from the ship during a honeymoon voyage between Greece and Turkey. Blood was reportedly found in and around his cabin. The incident resulted in an FBI investigation and congressional inquiry, while his family alleged that Royal Caribbean did not adequately handle the case.
