History
Miwa Lock was established on May 5, 1945. In 1950, it received an order for special locks (seal locks) from the Bank of Japan. In 1955, it developed the 'Honjime Monolock', which became a designated lock in the special common specification of the Japan Housing Corporation in 1957. In 1959, it developed the 'PM type face-mounted lock for public housing doors'. In 1981, its face-mounted auxiliary lock received the first CP certification in the industry under the National Police Agency's certification system for crime prevention equipment. In 1991, it developed and began selling the 'U9 cylinder'. In 1993, Miwa Lock Co., Ltd., Miwa Lock Industry Co., Ltd., and Nihon Denshi Lock Co., Ltd. merged to form Miwa Lock Co., Ltd. In 2003, it developed and began selling the high-security 'PR cylinder'.
