Overview
Mirairo Inc. (株式会社ミライロ) is a Japanese company founded in 2010 that works to eliminate social barriers and realize an inclusive society where no one is left behind. Its philosophy is captured by the slogan "Inclusion for Innovation" and the concept of "Barrier Value" (バリアバリュー), which treats disability as a source of value and new business creation rather than merely a challenge to be overcome. The company is headquartered in Osaka with a Tokyo branch, and its representative director and president is Toshiya Kakiuchi. Mirairo provides both corporate and individual services centered on universal design (UD) and universal manners. For companies, educational institutions, and local governments, it offers consulting, accessibility research, product and service development support, web accessibility, communication barrier solutions, and diversity and inclusion training. Its flagship individual-facing service is the Mirairo ID (ミライロID), a digital disability certificate app launched in 2019 that allows people with disabilities to present their disability information smoothly and access various services. Other services include Mirairo Connect (information support and remote communication), Mirairo Research (disability monitor research), and the Universal Manners Certification (ユニバーサルマナー検定). Mirairo has supported over 1,000 organizations and has developed more than 50 services. It has received numerous awards, including the Diversity Management 100 selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Venture Awards 2018 Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Prize. The company continues to expand partnerships, such as with Hitachi for railway assistance applications and with Yamato Transport for the Kuroneko Members system integration.
