Overview
Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1 (ААТ «Мінскі малочны завод № 1») is a Belarusian dairy producer and the managing company of the Pervy Molochny holding. Its history begins in 1929, when the first products — whey, kefir and milk — were released. The plant states that it produces dairy products from natural cow's milk and remains a leader of the dairy sector of the Republic of Belarus. Its products are supplied to all regions of Belarus as well as to the markets of Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and countries further abroad.
History
The history of the plant begins in 1929, when by the end of that year the first products were released: whey, kefir and milk. In 1953 new production buildings were constructed and new equipment installed, raising milk processing capacity to 75 tonnes of milk per day. In 1974 the plant underwent technical re-equipment, with production capacity reaching 230 tonnes of natural dairy products per day. In 1994 the enterprise began operating at a new production site on Soltysa Street, with milk processing capacity of 320 tonnes per day. In 2004 the enterprise returned to its earlier name, «Гарадскі малочны завод № 1». In 2008 it absorbed КВУП «Гармалзавод № 3», creating a single technological process across the premises of both neighbouring enterprises. In 2009 it began producing curd products and soft cheese by ultrafiltration under the trademark «Венскі сняданак», as well as feta cheese. In 2010 it started producing «Я смачны» yogurts in sectional packs of 4. In 2012 the children's food workshop was reconstructed, increasing production capacity by 40 tonnes. In 2013 the enterprise КУП «Гарадскі малочны завод № 1» was renamed ААТ «Мiнскі малочны завод № 1». In 2014 a line for condensing curd products was launched. A separate agricultural branch, СПФ «Новые Зеленки», traces its origins to a sovkhoz organized in March 1921; it was reorganized several times and became a branch of ОАО «Минский молочный завод № 1» following decisions of the Minsk city executive committee, including the 2012 decision converting КУП «ГМЗ № 1» into ОАО «Минский молочный завод № 1». The trading house ООО «Минский молочный завод №1» in the Russian Federation sent its first truck of butter to its first client in April 2013.
