MGK Insect

MGK® develops and markets a broad portfolio of branded insect control products based primarily on natural pyrethrum and man-made technology, and also develops custom solutions for insecticide manufacturers worldwide. Founded in 1902 as a spice-grinding business, it added botanicals including pyrethrum by 1915, and has been guided by four generations of family leadership; its name references its three founding families (McLaughlin, Gormley and King). In 1989 MGK became an affiliate of Sumitomo Chemical Company. Its offerings span professional pest control, animal health, crop protection, plant and greenhouse, organic home gardening, and mosquito control, with products such as Bedlam®, CrossFire®, EverGreen®, Onslaught®, NyGuard® and Pyrocide®.

When MGK® was founded in 1902, its principal business was grinding spices. By 1915, a variety of botanicals, including pyrethrum, were added to the portfolio. By continually fine-tuning extraction, refinement, standardization and innovation, the company develops and provides high-quality pyrethrum-based and man-made technological products. Four generations of family leadership have guided MGK since its founding, and the company name is a nod to its three founding families (McLaughlin, Gormley and King). In 1989, MGK became an affiliate of Sumitomo Chemical Company, described as a critical relationship to its long-term successes in chemistry, technology, sales and growth.
