Metrod Holdings Berhad is a Malaysian copper manufacturer. According to its corporate site, Metrod is a leading manufacturer of Oxygen Free Copper rod, wire and strip in Malaysia, began operations in 1981, and was listed on the main board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 1996. Its products are used in electricity generation, transmission and distribution, telecommunications, lightning protection, welding, electronics and automotive parts, magnetic coils, motors, compressors and transformers. The company describes itself as Asia's leading copper manufacturer and producer based in Malaysia, servicing over 15 countries across the Asia Pacific.

Metrod began operations in 1981 as an independent copper fabrication plant. Its milestones page records the inception of Metrod in 1981, followed by a first Upcast Rod Line with total capacity of 10,000 TPA in 1982, a second Upcast Line reaching 40,000 TPA in 1991, a Dip-form Line reaching 80,000 TPA in 1994, and continuous extrusion in 1995. In 1996 the company was listed on the main board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. A third Upcast Line brought total capacity to 100,000 TPA in 1997. The company was awarded ISO 9001 in 1998 and an ISO 9002 certificate in 1999, followed by ISO 9001 2000 version certification in 2002. Capacity was consolidated to 60,000 TPA in 2003, and a new rectangular wire products plant was established in Malaysia in 2007. ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 were obtained in 2011. New Upcast Lines in 2014 and 2015 raised total capacity to 86,000 TPA and then 106,000 TPA. A new SCR line was installed in 2018, and total capacity reached 300,000 TPA in 2019. The corporate site states that Metrod has weathered the Asian financial crisis in 1997, recurrent metal market volatility, and the global recession as recent as during 2009.
