Metro Records is a Thai record label. According to its official website, the company traces its origins to a record shop, Hang Plaen Siang Metro, established on 20 December 1965 in the Pratunam area by Worachai Thammasangkiti. It began by selling records and later became a distributor of Thai international songs, and then produced its own works, becoming one of the early record labels in Thai music history. Today the company operates as Metro Plaen Siang-Tape (1981) Co., Ltd., producing and distributing luk krung and luk thung music, and offering vinyl records, CDs, and ringtones.

Metro Records began on 20 December 1965 when Hang Plaen Siang Metro (Metro record shop) was established in the Pratunam area by Worachai Thammasangkiti, who had recently graduated and had experience selling records in front of movie theaters around Bangkok. The shop initially sold records before the cassette era. As the Thai music market grew, the small shop became a distributor of Thai international songs for several albums, including "Suthep Show" by Suthep Wongkamhaeng, "Pen Pai Mai Dai" by The Impossibles, and "Faen Chan" by Chatre. It also became a trusted distributor of Suntaraporn original albums. Later it began creating its own works, becoming one of the early record labels in Thai music history, with notable works such as "Pan Din Hai Pen Dao" by Thanin Intharathep and "Hua Chai Salai" by The Hot Pepper Singers. Today, Metro Plaen Siang-Tape has grown into a company engaged in comprehensive entertainment business, producing and distributing both luk krung and luk thung music, and has stood alongside the Thai international music industry from the record era to the digital era. The company's mission, held for over 50 years, is to entertain Thai people with songs from Thai artists that have high standards of singing and music, and to create songs rich in literary and musical value.
