History

Metran was founded in 1984 by Nitta Kazufumi (Tran Ngoc Phuc), a Vietnamese student in Japan, to develop ventilators for premature infants. The company developed high-frequency oscillation (HFO) ventilation, which was recognized by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and adopted in about 90% of domestic NICUs. In 2006, it developed the domestic sleep apnea treatment device 'Jasmine'. In 2011, it developed the veterinary ventilator 'Compos X'. In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it rapidly developed and mass-produced the 'Eliciae MV20' ventilator. In 2025, after applying for civil rehabilitation, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Central Medience Co., Ltd.
