History
Founded in 1921 by Alphonse Merré, the company has nearly a century of experience in maritime and river construction. In 1964, André-Pierre Merré moved MERRÉ to its current site in Nort-sur-Erdre, 25 kilometers north of Nantes. The yard produced a wide variety of river and sea vessels, including more than a hundred trawlers from 1970 to 1990 and many other workboats. In 1999, under the impetus of André and Alain Merré, the company entered the capital of the shipyard Mecasoud in Saint-Nazaire, allowing easier construction of larger units. Since 2012, the Merré shipyard has joined the BMA group, led by Moun Bourjij, President.
