History
Merck Finck's history page states that since its founding in 1870 the house has been part of the sometimes turbulent history of its country. It was founded on 1 July 1870 in Munich as an OHG, and until 1990 the von Finck family led the bank. First expansion steps followed to Düsseldorf and Frankfurt am Main in 1954/1963. On 1 October 1990, August von Finck jun. sold the business to the British Barclays Bank Plc. In 1999 the bank moved under the roof of today's KBL European Private Bankers (epb) in Luxembourg. From 2000 to 2008 the private bankers expanded nationwide and were represented at 15 locations. In 2012 Precision Capital took over the KBL European Private Bankers group in Luxembourg. In 2016 the OHG converted into a stock corporation; Thilo Wendenburg took over as chairman of the board, with Michael Krume (deputy chairman), Joachim Gorny and Udo Kröger completing the board, and Georg Freiherr von Boeselager becoming chairman of the supervisory board. In 2017 Matthias Schellenberg became chairman of the board, with Michael Krume (deputy chairman) and Joachim Gorny also on the board. In 2018/2019 Olivier Kuetgens became a member of the board; on 1 July 2018 he took over the area of responsibility of Joachim Gorny, who left the board as of 31 March.
