Meffert AG Farbwerke

Meffert AG Farbwerke is a German manufacturer of paints and varnishes based in Bad Kreuznach. According to its official website, the company was founded in 1947 when Otto Meffert sen. opened a paint shop in Bad Kreuznach. It describes itself as a family business and a full-range supplier with more than 30,000 articles, seven production sites in Germany and five abroad, and around 1,500 employees. Its products are aimed at DIY users and the wholesale/trade sector.

According to the company's official history page, the foundation of the company was laid in 1947 by Otto Meffert sen. with the opening of a paint shop in Bad Kreuznach's city center. In 1985 Klaus and Dieter Meffert took over the management of the company and in 1991 led it toward an international orientation. The official history page also lists various later events, including the acquisition of a majority stake in Bio Pin Naturfarben GmbH & Co.KG effective January 1, 2022, the merger of the Russian subsidiaries OOO Meffert Production and OOO Meffert Polilux into OOO Meffert Production, the takeover of the Italian manufacturer Unione Colori Industrie Chimiche Srl (U.C.I.C), the full integration of the Russian subsidiaries OOO Meffert Production Noginsk and OOO Meffert Polilux into the group, the takeover of the activities of Duisburger FEIDAL GmbH Lacke + Farben via an asset deal effective April 2017, and the joint acquisition with an Italian partner of Colorificio Casati Spa in Verona/Italy retroactive to January 1, 2016.
