Mediziner und Wissenschaftler für Gesundheit, Freiheit und Demokratie

Mediziner und Wissenschaftler für Gesundheit, Freiheit und Demokratie, e.V. (MWGFD) is a registered association of people working in medical professions and scientists who deal with the topics of health, freedom and democracy in research and teaching. According to its own statements, the association came together during the coronavirus crisis in its criticism of excessive restrictions, and it describes itself as independent and non-partisan. Its members, however, like all citizens of the country, have the right to publicly express their personal opinion, including on party-political topics, which does not mean that their views reflect the positions of other members or the board. The association shares content from external authors on its pages and channels when it considers it relevant and factually accurate, without thereby endorsing all statements or positions of a medium or author or sharing their political stance.

On 21 September, from 13:00 to 14:00, a meeting of the Petitions Committee of the German Bundestag took place regarding Petition 189940 'Aufhebung des Masernschutzgesetzes/der Masern-Impfpflicht', which was initiated by the association MWGFD. Dr. Ronald Weikl, deputy chairman of MWGFD e.V. and coordinator of the 'Arbeitsgruppe Masernschutzgesetz' initiated by MWGFD, was to present the arguments compiled by the joint working group together with Heidelberg lawyer Beate Bahner to the 26 members of the committee.
