History

The Median-Verlag was founded in 1968 by Hans-Jürgen von Killisch-Horn in Heidelberg. He had previously worked at the Energie-Verlag in Heidelberg and took over two trade journals from it: 'Der Hörgeräte-Akustiker' (first published in 1966) and 'Zeitschrift für Hörgeräte-Akustik/Journal of Audiologica Technique' (first published in 1962). In 1969, an information sheet for ENT doctors was added, and later the 'Grüne Mappe' and 'Rote Mappe' collections were published. Since 1971, 'Der Hörgeräte-Akustiker' has appeared monthly. With these publications, the Median-Verlag quickly developed into the leading publisher of specialist information for the hearing aid acoustics industry.
