McPherson Guitars

McPherson Guitars is a high-end, custom guitar shop located in Sparta, Wisconsin, USA. In the late 1990s, founder Matt McPherson began pursuing a revolutionary acoustic guitar design, resulting in world-class instruments known for their brilliance and sustain. Renowned for their impeccable craftsmanship, McPherson's team of skilled luthiers has produced a limited number of heirloom-quality wooden guitars each year since 2001. More recently, these same design principles have been applied to the McPherson Carbon Series, crafted with the same design philosophy and delivering exceptional results. The Carbon Series is quickly gaining recognition as the best-sounding carbon fiber acoustic guitar available today. The brand's signature innovations include the Offset Soundhole, which positions the soundhole off-center so that the central part of the guitar's soundboard remains longer and uninterrupted, enhancing vibration across the top for greater volume, clarity, and a richer sonic experience. Every McPherson guitar also features a Cantilevered Neck, which is not glued or connected to the top of the guitar but instead floats above the soundboard, allowing the soundboard area underneath the fretboard to vibrate freely and increasing sustain. The Overpass/Underpass Bracing System creates a larger, more even space for the top to vibrate, with braces that cross each other but never touch or inhibit vibration. McPherson offers a range of wooden models such as the MG 4.0XP, MG 4.5, MG 4.5XP, MG 5.0, and Camrielle 4.5, priced from around $11,900 to $26,200, as well as carbon fiber models including the Carbon Sable and Carbon Touring. The guitars are made to order and crafted entirely in Sparta, Wisconsin, USA. In addition to his work at McPherson Guitars, Matt McPherson is the Founder and CEO of Mathews Archery, the world's leading archery company, also based in Sparta, Wisconsin.
