Overview
Marras Mills (Μύλοι Μάρρα) is a Greek flour milling company with a history dating back to 1928. Founded by Konstantinos Marras, the business began as a stone mill in Angelokastro, Corinthia. After being destroyed during World War II in 1944, it was rebuilt by his son Nikos Marras in 1947 and later converted into a roller mill in 1958. In 1968, Nikos and his brother Pantelis Marras established a new factory in Corinth, which remains the company's base. Today, Marras Mills operates a modern production unit near the ancient port of Lechaio, under the shadow of Ancient Corinth. The company produces a wide range of flour products, including white and yellow flours, super and luxury flours, diet bran, semolina, flours from other grains, and ready-made mixes. It serves professional bakers across Greece, supported by its own fleet of trucks and silo vehicles, and operates a branch in Ionia, Thessaloniki, to serve Northern Greece. The facilities are certified with ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 22000 for food safety. With continuous investments, the company has expanded its privately owned facilities to a total area of 29 acres, operating two ultra-modern mills for soft and hard wheat with a total milling capacity of 480 tons per 24 hours, flour storage of 680 tons, and wheat silos with a capacity of 30,000 tons. Marras Mills combines tradition with innovation to produce high-quality products that stand out in the Greek market.
History
Marras Mills was founded in 1928 by Konstantinos Marras, who established the first stone mill in Angelokastro, Corinthia. This marked the beginning of a family business tradition. During World War II, in 1944, the business suffered total destruction. Three years later, in 1947, Konstantinos's son, Nikos Marras, revived the stone mill. In 1958, Nikos Marras transformed the stone mill into a roller mill, modernizing production. In 1968, in collaboration with his brother Pantelis Marras, they founded a new factory in Corinth. Located at the 90th kilometer of the Old National Road Athens–Patras on a privately owned plot of 7 acres, these facilities represented the modern and pioneering phase of the company's evolution. Today, with continuous adaptation to technological developments in the industry, Marras Mills is in a new phase of growth. With investments expanding the privately owned facilities to a total area of 29 acres, they have put into operation two ultra-modern mills for soft and hard wheat, with a total milling capacity of 480 tons per 24 hours. These are accompanied by flour storage areas with a capacity of 680 tons and wheat storage silos with a capacity of 30,000 tons. The company looks to the future with respect for the past.
