Marconi Company

The Marconi Company was founded by Guglielmo Marconi in 1897 as the Wireless Telegraph & Signal Company. It played a key role in the development of radio communication, including transatlantic transmissions. The company later diversified into broadcasting and television, and became a UK defense contractor. In 2006, its assets were acquired by Ericsson.
