ma.lo architectural office is an international architecture firm based in Innsbruck, Austria, founded in 2007 by Markus Malin and Eva López. The practice is led by its two founding partners, who describe themselves as deliberately unspecialized, working across a broad spectrum of architectural and urban design tasks. ma.lo architectural office was founded in 2007 by Markus Malin and Eva López in Innsbruck, Austria. Markus Malin completed his architecture diploma at the University of Innsbruck in 2000 under Prof. Gabriela Seifert, and studied at the University of Barcelona from 1996 to 1998 under Prof. Enric Miralles. He worked in various architecture offices from 1995 to 2005 and became a state-certified civil engineer in 2007. Eva López studied architecture at the University of Granada, Spain, and worked in various architecture offices in Spain and Austria. Together they established ma.lo architectural office in 2007. Since 2007, both partners have served as competition jurors, and Eva López was a member of the design advisory board of Steyr from 2019 to 2021. In 2022, they founded ma.lo ZT GmbH as founding partners. The firm has since participated in numerous competitions and received awards, including first prizes for projects such as Kindergarten Vomp-Fiecht, Campagne Freiraum & Sportanlagen, Schlachthofblock, Fassade Gebrüder Weiss, and Campus V BT3.
