History

Johann Lux laid the foundation for the Lux-Werft in May 1945, shortly after the end of the war. The first boat was completed at the end of 1945 for the fishing brotherhood in Bergheim. The company continued with the Siegfähre, replacing an old wooden ferry with a steel one. In 1948, the Dutch provisions and towing boat, 15.80 m long and 3.20 m wide, was launched as construction number 1. More than 5000 of the well-known Lux-Nachen have left the shipyard. The new MS 'Kristallkönigin' has construction number 197. Annually, 3-5 passenger ships are built at the Lux-Werft.
