Lietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys (LMR), known in English as the Proceedings of the Lithuanian Mathematical Society, is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal devoted to mathematics. It was founded in 1961 and is published in Vilnius, Lithuania. The journal is issued by the Lithuanian Mathematical Society together with the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics and Vilnius University. Its ISSN is 0132-2818 and its electronic ISSN is 2335-898X. The journal is hosted on the Vilnius University journal platform at zurnalai.vu.lt/LMR. LMR is a diamond open access journal: it charges neither article processing charges nor submission charges, and its content is freely available. It publishes articles presenting new and important results in all areas of mathematics, including algebra and number theory, random processes, differential equations, function theory, geometry, teaching mathematics and informatics, history of mathematics, mathematical applications, mathematical logic, operations research, finance and insurance mathematics, computational mathematics, statistics, theoretical informatics, and probability theory. One volume is published per year. Articles are accepted in Lithuanian and English, and the submission guidelines also indicate that submissions in Russian are desirable. The editorial office is located at the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Vilnius University, Naugarduko 24, LT-03225 Vilnius, Lithuania. The principal contact is Artūras Štikonas of Vilnius University. The journal has been led by several editors-in-chief over its history: Petras Katilius (1961–1989), Jonas Kubilius (1990–2005), and Mifodijus Sapagovas (from 2005).

History

Lietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys was founded in 1961 in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was established and is published by the Lithuanian Mathematical Society, the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, and Vilnius University. The journal began as a publication venue for Lithuanian scientists, printing research articles and abstracts of reports on results in mathematics. Its initial print run in 1961 was 1,000 copies; by 1996 the print run was 500 copies. Since 1973, an English translation has been published under the title Lithuanian Mathematical Journal. The journal has had several editors-in-chief. Petras Katilius served from 1961 to 1989. Jonas Kubilius led the journal from 1990 to 2005. Since 2005, Mifodijus Sapagovas has been editor-in-chief. Over the decades, the journal has evolved from a primarily print publication into a diamond open access electronic journal hosted on the Vilnius University journal platform. It now publishes one volume per year, accepts articles in Lithuanian and English (with Russian also desirable per submission guidelines), and charges no article processing or submission fees. The journal is indexed in numerous international databases and is a member of open scholarship initiatives such as i4OC and I4OA.
