Leon Fuat Berhad

Leon Fuat Berhad is a Malaysian steel trading and processing group. Founded in 1972 through the establishment of Leong Huat Trading & Co., the Group specialises in trading and processing steel products, focusing on flat and long steel products. Its portfolio includes carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel. The Group also provides value-added processing services such as cutting, levelling, shearing, profiling, bending and finishing, as well as production of expanded metal, and has ventured into manufacturing welded steel pipes at a plant in Port Klang, Selangor.

Leon Fuat Berhad was founded in 1972 with the establishment of Leong Huat Trading & Co., whose initial business activity mainly involved the trading of steel products. In 1982, Leon Fuat Hardware Sdn Bhd was incorporated to take over the existing business of Leong Huat Trading & Co., trading long steel products focusing on carbon steel and undertaking minor processing such as cut-to-length long products using a bandsaw machine. In 1983, Leon Fuat Hardware (Klang) Sdn Bhd (currently known as Leon Fuat Metal Sdn Bhd) was incorporated to undertake trading and processing of steel products in a rented premise in Sungai Rasa, Klang. In 1985, Leon Fuat Holdings Sdn Bhd was incorporated to consolidate the founders' investments, including subsidiary companies Leon Fuat Hardware and Leon Fuat Metal in 1991, and Supreme Steelmakers Sdn Bhd and ASA Steel (M) Sdn Bhd in 1995. In 1991, Leon Fuat Metal acquired a freehold land measuring approximately 116,928 sq. ft. for the construction of a new plant and office premises; the new premises known as Wisma Leon Fuat was completed in 1996 and Leon Fuat Metal moved into it in 1997. As part of the Group's long-term business enhancement strategy initiated from 2016, the Group ventured further downstream into the manufacturing of welded steel pipes, with the plant located in Port Klang, Selangor, and construction completed in two phases spanning from 2019 to 2023.
