Overview
Landmark Vineyards is a winery in Kenwood, California, founded in 1974 by Damaris Deere Ford. It sources grapes from California vineyards and produces wines including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with estates in Sonoma Valley and the Russian River Valley.
History
Landmark Vineyards was founded in 1974 by Damaris Deere Ford, whose heritage extends back to her great-great-grandfather John Deere, inventor of the steel plow. Along with her two sisters, Damaris founded Landmark Winery, named after their family home on the shores of Bermuda. In 1993, Damaris hired renowned enologist Helen Turley to deepen the winery's commitment to Chardonnay, leading to a signature style of whole-cluster-pressed grapes, fermentation by native yeast strains, and aging in French oak. The winery sources grapes from California vineyards from Sonoma to Santa Barbara.
