Landessportbund Sachsen-Anhalt

The Landessportbund Sachsen-Anhalt e. V. (LSB) is the interest representation of non-profit sport, from grassroots to elite sport, in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. It conducts sports-political lobbying for all age and interest groups in non-profit sport, taking into account gender equity and the integration of people with disabilities as well as citizens with a migration background. Under the LSB's umbrella, 385,973 athletes are organized in 2,948 sports clubs across 14 district and city sports associations (as of 15 January 2026). Its 52 state specialist associations, as member organizations, ensure training, competition and league operations in their sports, and secure specialist supervision and training. The LSB works with the state government and the Ministry of the Interior and Sport of Saxony-Anhalt, and on the basis of the state's sport promotion law they jointly work toward financing sport in both grassroots and elite sport. The LSB sees itself as a service provider for non-profit club sport and represents its interests in all sports-political and cross-sport matters. Every newly founded sports club in Saxony-Anhalt can obtain membership in the LSB by applying to the responsible district or city sports association.

The Landessportbund Sachsen-Anhalt has, since its existence, produced its own image film for the first time; the three-minute film premiered at the LSB main committee on 25 November 2023 in Röblingen. The film dives into the large sports family of Saxony-Anhalt and highlights the significance of the LSB and its members for sport in the federal state. The LSB image film is available online for all members, and member organizations can request it in high-resolution quality (UHD) for presentations within the sports family.
