Overview

La Suite Records is an Italian independent record label based in Turin (Torino), dedicated to the production, distribution and promotion of hip hop artists and releases. It began as a project of Filippo Brucoli, a member of the Italian hip hop group ATPC, who is now the label's chief executive and head. The label manager and head of record promotion is Federico Grazziottin, better known by his stage name DJ Fede. The label's core business is hip hop: producing, distributing and promoting artists and products tied to the genre. To extend its reach, La Suite Records established a collaboration with Venus Dischi, which handles distribution of its productions to shops outside La Suite's own network and to large retail chains. The label also operates a sub-section called La Suite Underground, focused on producing and promoting emerging artists and experimental projects, always within hip hop. La Suite Records has released a substantial catalogue since 2004, with catalogue numbers such as SUI, TSU, KK, 0F and BR. Early releases include DJ Fede's "50 MC's II" (SUI 001, 2004), the various-artists "Suite Foundation EP" (SUI 002, 2004), Funk Famiglia's "Riconoscilo dal suono" (SUI 003, 2004), Tsu's "Rime e ragioni" (SUI 006, 2004) and ATPC's "Idem" (SUI 007, 2004). The label continued through the 2000s with releases by OneMic, Principe, Ensi, Raige & Zonta, Duplici, Coez and others, and with sub-imprints such as TSU, Karma Krew (KK), Original Flavour (0F) and Brokenspeakers (BR). The label is closely associated with Turin's hip hop scene and with the careers of artists such as ATPC, DJ Fede, Tsu, OneMic, Ensi and Coez. It remains an independent, privately held Italian label.
