History
Kuimono Ya Wan is an izakaya chain that traces its roots to Oizumi Foods, a restaurant operator founded in 1982 by Oizumi Seiji as Oizumi Hanbai Co., Ltd. The izakaya brand Kuimono Ya Wan was launched in January 2000 with its first store in Isehara, Kanagawa. The chain expanded quickly, and by December 2003 it had reached 50 stores. In November 2001, Oizumi Kenji became representative director of the company. In March 2002, the group company Oizumi Co., Ltd. was listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, and the headquarters building was completed in Atsugi, Kanagawa.
