Kringle Candle is a traditional candle company based in Bernardston, Massachusetts. The brand was founded by Michael James Kittredge III. His father, Mike Kittredge, had made his first candle at age sixteen using old childhood crayons for his mother's Christmas present, which started The Yankee Candle Company. Mike Kittredge later sold The Yankee Candle Company to Forstmann Little & Co. in 1998 and retired. In 2008, Michael James Kittredge III made his first candle on the family's antique Queen Anne stove purely for fun. In 2009, a college course required him to create and promote a product, and he chose candles. He discussed expanding the academic assignment into a real business with his father. They decided to look for facilities suited to candle crafting and, on a drive through Bernardston, Massachusetts, discovered a building for sale that was familiar because the owner had been a good former customer of his father during The Yankee Candle Company's heyday. The building was over 18,000 square feet. Since 2010, Kringle Candle has been producing innovative highly-scented candle products enjoyed worldwide.
