Kosakai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.

Kosakai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. is a Japanese company based in Tokyo. It handles food additives, food materials, alcohol, and sanitation products. The company was founded in 1918 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018.

The company was founded in June 1918 as a pharmaceutical wholesale business under the name Kosakai Choichi Shoten in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. It became Kosakai Shoten (a limited partnership) in 1935, and in 1947 changed its name to Kosakai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. with capital of 195,000 yen. Over the years, it expanded its capital and opened sales offices in Kansai, Shizuoka, and Fukuoka. In 1960, the head office moved to Nihonbashi Muromachi, and the company began mainly selling food additives and food packaging materials. In 2005, the head office moved to Nihonbashi Tomizawa-cho 2-6, and in 2015 to Nihonbashi Tomizawa-cho 11-7. In 2018, the company celebrated its 100th anniversary.
