Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) describes itself as a leading provider of Ground Network Services and Earth Observation Services, operating a global ground network positioned to support missions in LEO, MEO, GEO and HEO as well as Lunar missions. From its headquarters in Norway, KSAT states it has grown into a world-leading global space company built to deliver secure, resilient, always-on services, with 24/7/365 operations. Its Earth Observation offering includes environmental monitoring, land monitoring, satellite images and processing, and maritime surveillance and security, drawing on both Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and high-resolution optical satellite imagery.

KSAT states that its story started in 1967 with a pioneering spirit to break new ground, and that from its headquarters in Norway it has grown into a world-leading global space company built to deliver secure, resilient, always-on services. It was among the first to introduce near real-time operational monitoring services in the 1990s, and it helped define the industry benchmark by pioneering near real-time maritime situational awareness and operational oil spill detection. Today it operates a global network of several hundred antennas across 40+ ground station locations, optimized for polar, inclined and equatorial orbits, and provides Earth Observation services with some of the fastest delivery times available. It has operated a Quality Management System certified according to the ISO 9001 standard since 2003.
